In my concept development class on Tuesday January 24th we discussed mainly about creativity. We spoke on how we go about being creative, where creativity comes from, and ways we communicate these ideas to others. One topic that was touched upon the most was how we got our ideas. Not everyone is the same when it comes to creating ideas. This topic was very titillating to me because this was an issue I personally never spoke to anyone about. I found it titillating because I know now how some people have different ways of creating. As weird as some may sound, it works for them and it also brings the possibility of also trying them for myself. Our class was instructive due to all of the communication that was happening in regards to our in class assignments. We later broke into groups with 5 pictures that each of us brought into class. Our goal was to create a story with at the least 3 pictures and at most 6. In this exercise we had to communicate and be creative. Reason being is that the story had to be unambiguous to the viewer. I found this task to be quite fun because my group mates and I had several stories but we did in the end choose the best story.
Through my creative career I personally have had trouble with creating ideas. When I try to create an idea I usually just sit and stare at the wall or ceiling waiting for some thing or idea to pop in my head. I have found that when I wait for an idea I happen to wait for a very long time. I have yet to master a way of creating ideas. I will usually ask friends or family about their thoughts in regards to an assignment that I am presented with. At the end of the day I come up with an idea from several ideas that I have heard throughout the day. I just put all these ideas in my head and come up with something original. So I still need to find a better process of creating ideas. Its a work in progress.

Day 3 for Thurs. 19th
For Thursdays lesson our class demonstrated our ability to organize and evaluate or fellow classmates' in creativity and ability to relay a message through illustration. Our goal collectively as a class was to place in order from best to worse our assignments. Our class made the task more problematic than it needed to be. One problem we came across was coming the disagreement of whose is the best and the worst and all of the in between. We broke up later in groups in which we discovered our problems and found a more adequate way of completing our goal. We established a way to come to a common goal collectively. This entire class was based off of an exercise of how we approached the problem and how we came to a solution. In this lesson we had to be more cooperative with each other. In this class we controlled the environment ourselves with very little guidance other than guidelines from Professor Moss. I felt Thursdays class was very informative within a more group communicative way.

Day 2 for Blog for Tues. 1/17/12
Yesterday on Tuesday we, as a class, demonstrated our skills of reorganizing ourselves in a new seating arrangement according to our birthdays. In class professor Moss spoke to us about the importance of communication. Some points that were made were very enlightening. For example when Professor Moss showed a picture on the projector and told us to tell him what we saw, not what we concluded, and told us to describe it. We described what we saw. The idea that he was getting across was the difference between reading into the picture and reading outside the picture. Stating what you can see compared to what we often try to conclude was the mistake in the demonstration. What I was fascinated by in class was our conversation about how important words are and the power of an image. All the topics discussed in class were quite new to me in regards to the depth of our conversation. Professor displayed two images one right after another. He also displayed colors and asked us what came to mind. When one image was of a fast food logo the idea is to get the attention of the consumer. I was unaware that almost all Fast Food Logos contain the color red in them. That was the idea behind the sign. To relate that boisterous red to a loud red stop sign. It was made that way to grab the attention of people in order to stop and eat there. That was just one example of an image that we see everyday and possibly do not take into consideration as to why we have the urge to stop there.
